Are you aware of your eating habits? When was the last time you took time to enjoy your food? Do you multi-task when you eat, talk with others, watch TV, read, etc.? Is food used as a way to eat away emotions or mask your true feelings?
Mindful eating is about creating a greater awareness to the relationship with food and eating. It is not about restrictions, but rather a curiosity and investigation of the eating experience by the use of all senses. Mindful eating helps distinguish between emotional and physical hunger. It increases awareness of food related-triggers and provides you with the freedom to choose your response to them. Mindful eating is permission to reply upon your inner wisdom to help guide your decisions and choices about food.
Mindfulness is an awareness that arises by paying attention to the present moment, on purpose, nonjudegmentally. It is only when we become aware of our habits the relationship to triggers that we are able to change them.
Join me for an evening and experience of mindful eating where you will learn tools to cultivate the skills for a better relationship to food, eating, and your health.
